The Old West Apparel Makes A New Fashion Statement

Television broadcasting has given us some of the best classics of all time.  Comedies, musicals, dramas, and let us not forget the unforgettable westerns.  These films can be traced back to the early 1940's, and are based on events that have taken place as early as the 1830’s.  Westerns are well known for their cowboys and cowgirls, leather saddles, spurs, and awesome horseback riding.  Even more so, the amazing and unique western apparel has greatly impacted the fashion industry to this day.  The well-known cowboy hats, the exquisitely designed western riding boots, and do not forget the fashionable bandanna, are just a few of the items that we can still appreciate today.

One form of apparel, from the old west, that will always stand out is the western riding boots.  These boots are usually made of soft cow hide or even suede.  They are made for both women and men alike, and are designed mainly for horseback riding.  They are made to keep the horse back rider safe, if an unfortunate fall would happen to occur.  For instance, the heels of these stylish riding boots are created on a particular angle, to prevent the rider’s foot from slipping through the stirrups.  Even more, the sole of these boots are made especially smooth, to prevent the rider’s foot from getting caught in the stirrup.

Although these western riding boots are usually worn for horseback riding, rodeos, and things of that nature, they can be worn in casual wear.  If matched just right with another piece of apparel from the old west, it seems to have powerful appeal.  Nevertheless, they can compliment a nice pair of jeans or even a comfortable dress.  Regardless of how you sport them, these boots have a style all of their own.

Western apparel of the old west continues to wow the fashion venues of today.  Western fashion offers men, women, and now children, a fun stylish way of expressing themselves.  From cowboy hats to the classic western riding boots, this type of fashion creates its own statement.  Western gear will always remind us of a part of history that we can still enjoy today.
